Welcome to The Harris Conservatory of Music! We are so excited to have you study with us! Thank you for observing the following policies regarding your lessons here at HCOM :
1. Payment
Lessons are $27 per half hour, $40.50 per 45 minutes, and $54 per hour, when purchased in packages of 4 lessons or more. Individual lessons are $30 per half hour, $45 per 45 minutes, and $60 per hour. Please pay your lesson fees via our digital scheduling page, or you may pay your teacher. You may pay by the week, or by the month in advance. We also accept PayPal.
2. Cancellations
Please give HCOM a minimum of 24 hour notice in advance if you will be missing a lesson, so that we may try to fill the spot with another student.
Please call or text to 734-725-9926 for all cancellations. You may also cancel through the digital scheduling site once you have made an account.
Lessons canceled on less then 24 hour notice will be charged full price. Exceptions are made for sudden illness or emergencies. Your teacher may, at their discretion, offer a make up for a lesson canceled on less then 24 hour notice, if their schedule allows. Students who do not call to cancel, and do not show up for their lesson, will be charged the full price of the lesson. There is a maximum of 2 cancellations per student per month, and a maximum of 10 total cancellations per student per calendar year. Students who cancel more then these maximums will be charged the full lesson price for additional cancellations.
3. Practice
You will need to practice your instrument at home. The time you spend with your teacher is for guidance; you will need to plan for time in your schedule to spend playing your instrument, following your lesson plan, and thinking about music. Try to spend at least a little time making music every day. A little every day gets faster and better results then longer sessions only once or twice a week..
4. Referrals
Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, and we offer an incentive for it! Ask at the front counter for a student referral card. Fill it out and give it to a friend who loves music; when they come in and sign up for lessons, you will receive a free lesson credit!
